Tom Zarecki, Senior Marketing Executive for Jetcast

Tom Zarecki joined Jetcast, Inc. in early 2007, coming from a 14 year career at RCS, the world’s largest broadcast software company where he was PR and Marketing Director, spokesperson, head writer, and a certified trainer in Selector and GSelector music scheduling and Master Control studio automation for the radio industry.

Zarecki has spoken at trade shows in Europe, Asia, Australia and across the USA, most notably as a featured speaker at The Conclave in Minneapolis, Christian Radio Seminar in Atlanta, Talk Radio Seminar in Washington, DC, the New Media Seminar and Intercollegiate Broadcast System conferences in New York, Convergence’08 in San Jose, Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, Mid-Atlantic Broadcaster’s Conference, Society of Broadcast Engineers New York Chapter, as well as at 12 consecutive National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conventions in Las Vegas as the RCS main presenter.

Dubbed “Connecticut’s youngest DJ” by the Hartford Times at age 13, by 19 Zarecki was a studio technician at legendary radio stations WABC and WPLJ in New York City. Following numerous positions as DJ, Chief Engineer, News Director, Program Director and morning host at various stations and syndicators, Zarecki spent 12 years as a radio programming consultant designing radio formats, creating ad campaigns and coaching air talent at top-rated music, news and talk stations in 35 states.

In the 1970’s Zarecki was the co-founder of two radio stations and a mobile DJ company: WRKI radio, WXCI radio and Soundtrack Entertainment. He is also a classically-trained musician.

Tom is a featured columnist in Radio Ink magazine, wrote regular columns for Talkers magazine and has been quoted by USA Today, The New York Times, New York Daily News, Spin, CNBC and MSNBC. He also imagineered, wrote and produced hundreds of radio-related Web pages, brochures, product animations and ads for RCS and subsidiary Media Monitors between 1993 and 2007. Zarecki is quoted extensively in the book by Valerie Geller, “Creating Powerful Radio: Getting, Keeping and Growing Audiences” published by Focal Press in 2007.

In 2004, Zarecki was awarded an MBA degree from Western Connecticut State University and later that year joined the University’s adjunct faculty as a marketing instructor. In addition to his Jetcast responsibilities in marketing, writing and public speaking, Zarecki creates and hosts the company’s frequent nationwide webinars. He heads the Broadcasting /Communications department at Briarwood College and teaches a radio workshop at Western Connecticut State University.
