Scott Blumenthal, Executive Vice President for Television, LIN TV
A graduate of Indiana State University, Scott Blumenthal began his broadcast career in 1970 at WTWO in Terre Haute. He joined WRTV in 1975 and in 1983 joined WISH-TV as the Local Sales Manager and was promoted to General Sales Manager in 1988. In 1994 he was named President and General Manager of WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In 1999 he returned to WISH-TV as the President and General Manager; was named Regional Vice President of LIN Television Corporation in 2002 and in 2006 was named Executive Vice President, Television of LIN Television.
He has served on advisory boards for the television companies BIAS, and Marshall Marketing consumer’s research company. Blumenthal is a past president of the Central Indiana Muscular Dystrophy Association and has also served on the boards of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, Indianapolis Community Relations Council, and the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee. In 2005 he was the Chairman of the Indianapolis 500 Festival Board. He is past Chairman of the Indiana Broadcasters Association and Executive Committee of CBS Board of Affiliates.
He is currently serving on the boards of NAB, TVB, CW Affiliate Promotion Committee and VCI Solutions, Inc. – Customer Advisory Board.
Over the years he has received numerous broadcasting awards and been recognized for community services in Grand Rapids and Indianapolis.
Scott and his wife, Bellinda, have two grown sons.
